Judas nodded some. At least he didn't have to go running errands. But he didn't make a run for the door either. He watched to see him relaxing some, honestly relieved. And maybe not entirely just as his boss. Maybe more than just being concerned about how much use a kid could be while curled up in his room. He leaned in quietly, looking at the spot and even squinting a bit as he tried to see just where it was. But he didn't see anything wrong with his side. Or anything wrong with him at all except for the pained expression. "There's nothing to see there though... so..." He shrugged a bit and stood up straight. "I've been stabbed before. It sucks. Can't say it burned burned though..." He looked over. But Bash had been before too... he wasn't sure what would cause that. But Judas wasn't a doctor.
"Maybe we should have been going to see one of the doctors instead of coming here." He commented. "Stabbing feelings aren't good." And then he wouldn't have had to be playing doctor either. Though normally that kind of thing didn't just dissipate on it's own. He got up to move toward the door, but the firm answer made him turn back around. A no, that wasn't deniable that he wanted Judas to stay. Why he would want him to stay, Judas had no idea. He wasn't sweet. He wasn't a parent. But he let go of the door and looked back. He frowned, watching the poor kid's face and trying to convince himself to just leave, but he failed. "I can help you figure it out, but what can I do from here?" He asked him and came back toward him. "It's not like you have access to the records here, do you?" words// 306 tags// Sebastien Athanasopoulosnotes// Phone post

Bash sighed and shook his head a bit. "Well it's not like I was expecting a wound really...we were both there. Don't you think one of us would have noticed if I had actually gotten stabbed?" he asked, his tone dripping with sarcasm that made even him cringe at his attitude. He looked down. "I'm sorry." he whispered, suddenly terrified that it would piss Judas off enough to make him leave. He couldn't leave. Bash was not going to let him leave. He was not going to be stuck alone. He took a breath before looking back up. "It burned...it was like the knife was put in fire and heated up first." he mumbled. It didn't make any sense to him. He was sure Juju didn't get it either.
"Yeah...because the doctors would have been able to make sense of it. I would have looked like an idiot. A wimp." Sebastien mumbled, shaking his head. "No doctors. No thank you." he added. He didn't care if Judas saw him that way. Judas had seen him at his very worst and he had already seen Judas at his. There wasn't anything to hide from the older man. He was thankful when he didn't leave right then and he pushed himself to sit up, giving Juju a strange look though. "Records? Records of what?" he asked. "We both know exactly what the fire and death records said. There are no records of anything else." he sighed. He thought for a moment. "No official records anyway."
He pushed himself up, nearly falling over, but he managed to catch himself with the nightstand. He took a moment to steady himself before he moved over to the closet, shifting some of the boxes around before pulling out one. "Maybe there is something in my Mom's stuff." he said quietly, setting the box on his desk.

"Well excuse me. You could have fallen into something at some point." He muttered. Judas had seen his share of people with internal injuries. He'd simply been worried about the possibility. He looked back to him and sighed. "I'm sorry for being concerned." He muttered and moved away, even at the sorry. "You really should take concern when it's given. Cause someone might choose not to stick around." He commented with attitude to match the young man's. Judas had no reason to stick around except concern for Bash. He wasn't going to stick around for a nasty attitude. He stared and rolled his eyes a bit, moving to sit down quietly. "Well, that sounds weird." He commented and rolled his eyes at Bash. "It could have been an internal injury." Judas muttered and looked up to him. He didn't care if Bash was weak or struggling, he wasn't there to judge that far. He really wasn't one to judge. When Sebastien had seen him drunk and falling over and puking he really couldn't judge anything that happened to Sebastien when he was sick. "But fine. No doctors." He mumbled and looked down.
"Records. Anything about your mom, the fire, anything that happened that day. It would be somewhere to start." He said, watching closely at that. He wouldn't argue that though. He knew what the fire records said. He'd read them. He'd seen what they were. Not helpful for the mystery at the surface level. But he hadn't dug deep into them really. "You have unofficial records?" He asked, but got up and moved closer. "Hey. Don't fall over." He held an arm out to catch him. He looked to the box quietly. He moved around the desk though. "It's worth a shot to look through. Even some mention in a journal could help. I mean... finding out who it is would be the first step forward." He said, looking into the box. He didn't reach in right off though. He didn't want to invade his things. words// 340 tags// Sebastien Athanasopoulosnotes//

Bash hadn't even thought about the possibility of it having been internal, but wouldn't that have caused some sort of visible bruising at least? But it didn't even matter because the way Judas moved away from him. The way he spoke. It was exactly what Bash had been afraid of. It was exactly the reason he had tried to apologize the moment he had realized he was wrong. Cause someone might choose not to stick around. The tears started to fill his eyes at those words and he was in no place to be able to manage to prevent them from sliding down his ghostly white cheeks. The continuing attitude from Judas made him feel completely awful as well. The eye rolling and everything. He hadn't meant to be an ass and he had apologized. He didn't even feel like his attitude warranted the reaction from Judas.
"I'm okay." He whispered when Judas told him not to fall over. There was no attitude this time, only a deep sadness from the young man. He stood by the desk to look through the box. "Unofficial records. Things my mother kept that no one else would have bothered to look at for answers." he said quietly, pulling out a journal, a box of letters, and a couple of old looking books with funny symbols on them. One of the books even had the same symbol on it as Bash had on his necklace. "Go ahead and start looking through whichever one you want...if you still want to stay and help." he added, giving the option.

Judas tried to be stubborn. Tried to be tough against the tears that he couldn't help seeing. The man looked away, arms crossed and shaking his head. "You just... don't get nasty with me when I'm trying to help." He said after a bit, giving an exasperated sigh and uncrossing his arms with a shake of his head. He came over, setting his hand on his shoulder and watching closely. "Now don't cry on me Bash. I can't do crying." He said quickly, though didn't go as far as wiping tears off. He wasn't that close yet.
"Well. Maybe she's mentioned him. If he made her that mad, then it's likely." Judas nodded some at that, grabbing one of the books to start looking through it at the invitation to look. "If I can interpret unofficial records and personal writing... or whatever this is." He commented, looking at the first page with an odd look. The symbols on the front of them were confusing enough. He looked over a couple of the other books, leaning on the desk and basically ignoring his invitation to leave. "This might have personal writing in it." He reached and picked up the journal. words// tags// Sebastien Athanasopoulosnotes// Phone post

Bash sniffled a bit. "I didn't mean to, Juju. It just slipped out. I am sorry. I truly am sorry." he said quietly. He could have an attitude, that was for sure, but he very rarely ever directed it toward Judas. There was just something about feeling so horrible and miserable that made it that much harder to control. "I won't do it again." he assured him. He briefly reached up and set his hand lightly on Juju's before he moved it away to wipe some of the tears away. "Sorry...I'm just...a giant mess." he mumbled, shaking his head a bit at that. He nodded a bit. "If it is anywhere I am sure it's in that journal...you are right. It's full of personal writing. She wrote in it every night. She wrote in her journal and I read one of my little books while we snuggled by the fire." he said, his voice getting a bit quieter as he went on. He picked up one of the books that Judas had just set down, flipping through it before a soft smile crossed his lips. "I remember these...Mama used to read to me from this book every night when she tucked me in. The pages are still folded of the ones we always did." he said quietly. He flipped to one of the pages. "Earth, Air, Sea, and Wind- Bless my family and my friends- Power of Love and Hope and Light Protect me onwards through the night Guard my home from things that creep, Good spirits watch me as I sleep. By Fire, Storm, Earth, and Sea As I speak- so mote it be" Bash ran his fingers over the page as he finished reading, such a soft smile on his face. "I didn't even know this was in there...I thought it got lost in the fire." he said quietly. He closed it and set it down. "A prayer book isn't going to help us with what we are searching for though." he mumbled, grabbing the box of letters to look through.

"Okay. Okay. I believe you. You won't do it again." Judas said, gently patting his hand before letting go and moving away again. "Normally I would have walked out. There's something about your tears." He commented. That was true. Anyone else and he knew he would just walk out. Somehow Bash had gotten in and he wasn't sure how. Other than maybe drunk and kissing, which no matter how much he denied it, he did actually remembered doing. That had to be it.
"That... sounds cute." Judas nodded a bit, a slight bit of jealousy hinted in his voice. He didn't have those kinds of memories. Even at a very young age he was raised military style. Yes sir. No sir. Stand at attention. There wasn't cuddling. He didn't have the adorable memories that could make him smile like that. "So if anything was important, it would be in here. Good. And it's not... Odd phrases." He commented. He stopped reading thiugh, looking up to listen to Bash read from it.
When he finished Judas sighed a bit, some confusion across his face. He didn't understand art, ppetry, prayers. He didn't get what it meant, but the gentle smile on the boy's face made Judas smile some as well. He didn't have to get it, Bash got the memory with it. He watched a moment longer, nodding a bit. "Don't lose that. Those memories are worth a lot. It's good you found it." He said, with a bit of a sad smile before he looked back to the journal. "Some don't have that much." He whispered.
He was quiet after that, reading a few pages. A bit of quick skimming for the first time through, but he stopped, a bit of a chuckle coming out as he read. "Oh Bash. I didn't know you were a clumsy child." He grinned. words// tags// Sebastien Athanasopoulosnotes// Phone post

Sebastien watched Judas curiously when he said that there was something about his tears. He just gave a small shrug. He didn't know exactly how, but he knew that he had managed to break through a wall that most would never see past. Bash didn't know how. He had guesses and he knew it all happened the night the two were drunk in his office, but he would never know exactly what it was. It didn't matter though, Bash liked it. Judas was a difficult man and sure he made Bash cry, but he liked him. He couldn't place his finger on it, but there was a connection that couldn't be denied.
"It was always my most favorite time of the day." he said quietly, but he couldn't help, but notice the sadness and the jealousy in his voice as he spoke to him about the memories. "No, the journal isn't all odd phrases." he said quietly, but he couldn't guarantee there weren't any. His mother always said the weirdest things and he had caught her chanting and doing weird things before, but he was too young to really question them. She always said he would understand and even learn about them when he was older, but...she died before that could actually happen and he simply pushed it all to the back of his mind.
He shook his head a bit. "I won't lose any of this and I won't lose the memories. I lost enough. I won't lose these too." he said firmly, but his frown only deepened. "Do you not have any good memories from when you were a little one?" he asked daringly, reaching and setting a very gentle hand on Juju's arm with a look of sadness that quickly turned to embarrassment as he blushed and looked down to the pile of stuff in front of him. "No more clumsy than a normal child." he defended. "Aren't all children clumsy?" he asked to try and brush it off. He knew very well that he was more clumsy than most though.

Judas looked up quietly, watching Bash and giving a small nod. "I think it would have been mine." He admitted quietly. "So you and your mother were close then?" He asked while absently looking at the page he was on, fiddling with the corner of the page he was looking at. He closed his eyes for a moment with a sigh. "Well there are understandable things in here at least. I can actually read it and not feel like a complete idiot being so lost." He commented, attempting to laugh at that and keep it light hearted. But it was hard to do when he was thinking about how much more someone else had. Not that he was a very selfish person to think he needed the same as everyone. He had just never thought before of how little he truly had gotten in his life.
"Good. Don't lose them." He said with a nod and turned the page that he was looking at to read a bit more. He froze though when he asked, and even the gentle touch made him stop. He looked down at that. "I uh... No. No I don't." He admitted after a minute of considering his answer. He didn't have anything. He couldn't even remember his parents smiling. He couldn't remember a single positive thing they'd said to him. He only even got a "good job" when he got the most recent promotion. And that had been short lived. Heck, President Snow had praised him more than his own father had. He looked up again and shook his head. "Bash I wasn't that lucky. My family they... didn't do that fun stuff. Or sweet stuff. Didn't even get hugs. I mean... you don't know what I would have given for a story time like other kids got. Or just... normal things." He didn't move away, just took a deep breath. "My father was a Peacekeeper. He retired from the force but he never emotionally retired. I was his little soldier." He admitted but looked back to the book and stopped himself quickly, trying not to show Sebastien the sad almost tear filled look that he had. He didn't want the young man to see that.
"I don't know about children. I know your mother was amused though." He said with a sad little laugh. He hoped that he could avoid crying but it was already starting. The look on his face said he was near crying. "There are a ton of little stories in here... I should keep this. I need some of this stuff." He said, looking to him. It wasn't really working though as the smile didn't really come back. words// 451 tags// Sebastien Athanasopoulosnotes//

Sebastien nodded a bit at that. "Yeah, we were very close. I mean...we didn't really have much, but each other. My father had his own family before mom even got pregnant with me. He was around, but I didn't even know he was my father. I just thought he was my mother's friend." he said quietly. "We...lived in the poor part. One of the poorest really. Mom did her very best to take care of me and she always came through. I don't know how she did it. She didn't have a job." he frowned a bit, trying to figure it out for a moment before he turned his focus to Judas.
Judas could say that there was something about Bash's tears all he wanted, but Bash felt the same way when Judas cried. He watched him carefully and listened to him just as well. Such a sad childhood it seemed the man had had. It suddenly made sense why he was the way he was as well. He didn't know love. He didn't know how much easier life could be with someone to hug and love. He didn't know how to let anyone in. "I can't imagine that. Even my father, who is a hard ass, hugged me and cuddled me." he said quietly, shaking his head a bit. His father expected a lot, almost too much, from his children, but he always loved them and always showed it.
He sighed and shook his head. "Keeping mine and my mother's book of memories wouldn't do a thing for you." he commented. He wasn't even just saying that because he wasn't willing to lose the book either. Bash stood up and gently wiped tears off his cheeks when they started to fall, despite Judas' attempt to hide them from him. "You know, Juju..." he started, stepping closer without removing his hand from his cheek. "If you didn't try to hide yourself from everyone, it's not too late to get the love that everyone, including you, deserves." he told him, leaning forward and giving him one of the gentle kisses he had given last time he was crying to make him feel better. "You weren't loved properly as a child....that makes you feel unlovable, but that's just not true." he added.

Judas lidtened, quiet as he did. He hated to say he was jealous of Sébastien but he was. He gave a small nod. "Sounds like a strong and determined person." He said. He might have appreciated her somewhat. He looked to the journal quietly. "She sure sounds like a tough lady anyways." He added and looked down. The last thing he wanted was attention on him. Talking about Bash seemed like a good choice. The boy loved to be the center of conversation normally. Maybe keeping his attention on the boy's life would help him avoid his own tears.
It didn't. Especially when Sébastien chose not to play along. He looked over, a sad teary look to his eyes at the thought. "I... it was fine. I didn't need a ton of hugs." He said quietly, although he actually had only been hugged once or twice in his life. With a shrug the man looked down. "Mine... I don't even think he likes me now. Definitely not proud." He said. And as a young boy that was all he had wanted. To make the man proud. But he couldn't. Nothing he did was enough. "We never did hugs. I still don't." He admitted. He was actually a bit worried about trying to be a fatherly figure for Bash's child in the future. If Bash thought the way he had been raised was wrong, and he wouldn't argue that anymore, what kind of father could he be?
"I meant I need to keep it as stories to use against you." Judas teased through a sniffle. But he looked up quickly at the touch, shaking his head away a bit. Touch still made him uncomfortable. Weird feeling. He stared at Bash without really leaving though. He looked up. "I don't hide myself Bash, I just don't attract loving attention like you do." He muttered. He would have continued to argue basically against his own good. He was planning to and had a list of excuses for why he didn't deserve anyone. And he had quite a few. Bash interrupted him in a way he couldn't expect. He froze at the gentle kiss, basically dropping the book he was holding back on the desk. And he was frozen, a mix of thoughts rushing through his mind. The fact that somebody cared felt oddly warm and comforting. Even the kiss did, despite just knowing in his head that it shouldn't. He didn't return it like he had when he was drunk, but he didn't throw the other man across the room either.
But Bash was in his personal space. He was right there, right close. He shook hisbhead, grabbing Sébastien's arms and holding him back from a second time, staring him in the eyes. Part of him wanted to cuddle the sick boy and just cry together. Just give up work for the day and be together. But they had things to do... To look into. He was so confused. So torn and lost. "Sebastien I'm not lovable. I'm a grumpy old ass of a peacekeeper. Don't worry about me." He told him, staring. words// tags// Sebastien Athanasopoulosnotes// Phone post

Sebastien nodded slowly. "She was an amazing woman...amazing mother who died far too young." he said quietly. "She didn't deserve what she got." he said quietly. She had always deserved so much better and to die in a fire. The pain she must have endured still bothered Bash to this day. He shook it off. It was easier in this case to focus on Judas than himself and his mother. This was the one time that he would rather speak of anything else other than himself and his life.
He frowned as he continued. "Everyone needs hugs, Judas. Hugs are like...one of the greatest things in the world and you seemed to agree with me that one night we spent together. Are you denying that the hugs, the kisses, the cuddling did nothing for you?" he asked quietly. For once he wasn't even speaking about it in a sexual way, but purely emotional. They could have taken it further that night, yes, but Bash had gotten great comfort out of what they had done. Comfort that a lot of people seemed to look over all that in favor of the pleasure. "And just because you grew up that way doesn't mean you have to stay that way. If you want hugs. If you like them and I think deep down you do, then give them and receive. You don't have to be your father." he commented, shaking his head a bit. "Besides...I like Juju. I like you. Look how far you have come. You're nearly top dog and everyone knows you are a million times better than Snow anyway." he said. "Are you proud of you?" he asked curiously after a moment.
He rolled his eyes. "I am sure you will remember some of the stories to tease me with later anyway." he commented. He would have smiled had Judas not still been so upset. The kiss was an easier and stronger gesture. He did flinch a bit when Judas grabbed onto his arms, expecting the worse, but it didn't come. That alone was a step in itself. He could see the sadness and the confusion in his eyes as well. Bash shook his head when he finally spoke. "You let me in, Juju. You can lie to the rest of the world. You can keep trying to lie to yourself. But I don't believe you and I don't think you believe you either." he said, pulling his arms away as he took a step back. "And like it or not, you're my friend and I will always worry about you. Tell me that you don't feel the same toward me." he continued.

"Nobody deserves to die in a fire like that. Well... not many people do." Judas said quietly and looked to Bash. But despite his attempt Bash moved on from the subject. He cringed at the mention of the one night, looking away again. "Bash, I... I don't know. I guess it was nice to not be alone. I don't know what was real of what I felt... I mean I was drunk and you're... different." He looked over to him. He shook his head at that though. "I'm not my father. I don't want to be my father." He said. He didn't. He was a military man yes but he wasn't his father. Especially now that he was going to get to raise Bash's child. "I wont do that to your son. But I am a bit late to start being huggy and lovey." He added. Not that his ego would let him turn cuddly.
"You know I'm not a fan of being called Juju." Judas commented, although not his normal unpleasant and upset way. "Top dog? I wouldn't say I'm better than Snow. Not at all. But I guess he did make me his top general. Guess I can be a little proud of that." He admitted with a slight nod. "But what does it matter. People can be proud of themselves and it means nothing. Pride is just a selfish way to tell yourself you're perfect." He muttered and looked to the ground at that. Too much confidence got you killed. That's what he'd been taught anyways.
"I guess I can remember." Judas sadly nodded at that. That would be nicer than taking the journal from him to hold over him. The Peacekeeper only tightened his grip on Bash's arms when he tried to move away. "It's easier just to believe I'm an unlovable person. Easier than trying and failing." He said and held on to Sébastien still though. He didn't want to be alone either, he really didn't, and it seemed that Bash's tears were contagious. "I... I worry about you. I do... I wouldn't be here if I didn't." He said truthfully, watching the young man carefully before he just came closer, pulling Bash into a hug. It was awkward. It was weird, but he needed something and he was sure Bash did too. words// tags// Sebastien Athanasopoulosnotes// Phone post

Sebastien watched him carefully. "When the feelings are because you are drunk, they go away after. They go away entirely. They aren't the feelings that you just bury deep in hopes of them having not been real." he said, shaking his head a bit. "I am a firm believer that alcohol just gives you the courage to do things you wouldn't normally do, but deep down have always wanted to do or say." he shrugged a bit. "You aren't your father? The way you described him makes you two sound an awful lot alike. Emotions wise anyway." he said before taking a breath, thinking. "I am aware that you won't do that to my son. If I thought you would then you wouldn't be taking him...but I don't think it is too late. It is never too late for change."
He chuckled. "You'll always be Juju to me. Might as well just accept it." he said before raising any eyebrow. "You aren't a crazy psychopath like Snow...you're better than Snow." he said simply, though frowned a bit. "There is a difference between being proud and too proud. A bit of pride is good. If you are confident in yourself, then that confidence spreads to those around you. If I wasn't confident in the way I handle my job, would you have any confidence in me to do it?" he asked curiously. "Besides, no one is perfect. I'm as close as a person can get." he added, managing a playful smirk at that though.
"Can't always take the easy way out, Juju. The easy way isn't always the best way." Sebastien said, stopping struggling against his grip fairly quickly when he didn't let go. It was nice to hear Juju said that he worried about him. That the friendship or whatever wasn't all onesided. Deep down he had known, but of course it was nice to hear it as well. He was surprised by the hug, but it didn't take him long to settle right into it. He wrapped his own arms around Judas and rested his head against his shoulder for just a moment. "Juju...I'm all for this hugging, but...can we actually sit down and relax too? Kinda getting to that point of the migraine where I feel like I am going to pass out if I don't sit." he told him seriously.

Judas looked down quietly at that, thinking some about it. "I guess I don't know. I haven't been drunk enough times to realize that." He said with a bit of a shrug. He took a deep breath. "I am not my father though. I am not him. He was a jerk. He wouldn't even be standing here right now. He pushed me around. He hit me. I'm not him and I will never be him and don't you dare compare us!" He demanded insistently, and quickly. He did not even want to think about how much similar he could be to the man. He especially didn't want to hear it from Bash, who he cared about. He looked down. "I'm not him. I'm not and I am going to make sure I am not." He added and looked away.
He couldn't argue that much further on the nickname though. He said he didn't like it, but he actually kind of did. "You shouldn't talk about Snow like that. But... yea. I'm not crazy. At least I can say that.." He stopped, listening to Sebastien. he didn't quite have an argument. He just listened to what Sebastien had to say and it did make sense. At least somewhat. "I uh... I guess I wouldn't have any confidence in you. But you may be too confident there. You're not that close." He tried to bring it back down a bit. "Watch that ego."
He kept his eyes on Sebastien's eyes, shaking his head a bit and holding his arms tightly. He wasn't going to let him go anywhere. He did care about Bash too, and he wouldn't admit but he needed him. He closed his eyes and leaned against Sebastien for a bit, holding onto him in a tight hug. But he moved away again when Sebastien spoke. "Oh I... Sorry. I forgot. You're a bit sick uh..." He sighed some and let him go. "We can sit. Or you can sit and lay down. I really don't want to pick your little butt off the ground." He said shaking his head a bit and motioning to the bed. "Go ahead, don't fall down." He said. He really didn't want Sebastien to fall over. He didn't want him to feel sick either. Though earlier today he wouldn't have considered coming over and sitting with him but now he was. words// tags// Sebastien Athanasopoulosnotes// Phone post
