Jaymis is an energetic and ambitious young man, used to getting what he wants only sometimes with hard work and unwilling to give up on anything. Despite his rich and fairly spoiled Capitol upbringing and partying attitude in his free time he tries to balance that with as much effort as he can put into school work. Which he will claim comes much more easily and naturally than it truly does. He works hard to do whatever it takes to get where he wants. Although he always has money and gets a lot for very little, he was always taught to try hard in school and get near perfect grades. It stuck, and he is determined to get to or stay at the top of his class. He'd hate himself for any less. Having always felt talented in both working technology and creativity, mixed with his energy and love for the idea and the games, he sees himself as perfect to be a Gamemaker. At the same time he is also best known for his confidence, even for having too much of it as he will exaggerate his worth as well as his ability even without being asked. With such a short attention span perfect is not quite the right word though. He is good and even excelling in class work and he is happy with that, but far from perfect.
Jaymis is friendly and definitely a people person, but Jaymis’ favorite person is simply himself and nobody can compete with him for that. Closest would be the Gamemakers he looks up to and he will even say President Snow has his highest respects. Still nobody is better than himself. Being just about as social as anyone, he will talk to anyone; he likes to be noticed in a crowd and even strives for it. In social events his bright blue eyes, blue dyed pieces of hair, and what he describes as his ‘very handsome’ face, are enough to catch some attention. His cheerful demeanor keeping it. Appearance and peoples’ opinions have always and will always be a focus for him. But the Games are a much more serious business, and he is working very hard to earn his way there and in doing so sacrificing quite a bit of that social time he loves. Generally a rule follower, he doesn't tend to get into any trouble except for maybe talking too much. He loves the Capitol, he loves the Games, and he loves to feel important. He wants to feel a part of something, mainly because he never has with his family.

History
The Capitol is all Jaymis has ever known. With a very wealthy and ambitious Capitol businessman for a father and a very beautiful socialite mother, he’s had a very comfortable life. He was raised with high expectations placed on his future and a very hard to please father. Determined and excelling in school his early years were at the very least satisfactory. There wasn't truly any trauma to his younger life, allowing him to retain the nearly constant smile on his face and to honestly say he has lived a great life. Jaymis was an only child, which gave him both all of his father’s love and attention, but at the same time he was the only one to receive his disappointment when he just didn't quite meet the set standard. And as the boy grew older and found interest in the excitement of the Capitol and also finally developed the idea of working the Games he really began to feel his father’s displeasure. There were constant arguments and a growing resentment between the two what seemed like almost every day.
The relationship deteriorated to the point that Jaymis wanted nothing to do with his father or his business. His attention was on their one remaining common interest though, the Hunger Games. Though not for the same reasons, his father was a betting man, Jaymis had an interest in the making of the Games. Not particularly interested in the tributes themselves, he was instead intrigued by the concept of their creation. Just before high school his ambitions changed from following his father, to a much more interesting and fun kind of goal of making it to that prestigious team of people who made the Games possible. He had always looked up to them, what he knew of them anyways, but the relationship between himself and his father just drove him farther that way. He didn't particularly hate his father. They didn't get along, but both were perfectionists. Nothing Jaymis did seemed good enough, he didn't make his father proud despite his attempts.
Despite not making his father proud the young man was quite happy with his progress. He had entered the Gamemaker Career program from the school, taking classes that were needed and doing very well in them. He is smart, and he has always been good at school. With applying himself fully to the program and career path, paying close attention to requirements, he has done well but also has mainly only done school for the past three years. Going for honors and whatever extra credit he could get Jaymis sure hopes he can make a good impression. He's sure of himself in his abilities and talents, very sure. When his third year came along he jumped at the chance for the career shadowing. What better for someone who had spent his life so intrigued by what went on behind the scenes than to actually be there and see it? The normally loud, energetic, and almost cocky young man has managed to remain fairly subdued in personality for his time that he has been shadowing an actual Gamemaker for school. It was the most exciting thing to look forward to starting in his Junior year and he had no intentions of ruining the chance he was being given to do so. Still definitely interested and enjoying it, he tries to look as serious as he can but he can't help the smile on his face some days.
When he got to year four, about ready to graduate, he found himself held back. The Gamemakers weren't giving him the internships he felt he deserved. Or the attention. His new girlfriend, Fara Snow, was getting awfully bored with him. And the young man discovered that his father had paid off some people to keep him from succeeding in the Gamemaker program and had plans to at the same time remove him from the company inheritance. Jaymis didn't take this lightly, and he along with Fara "dealt with" Jaymis' father. The old man was executed for crimes against the President's granddaughter. With that Jaymis inherited his father's position, heading the high class Capitol company which provided the technology and systems which run the yearly Hunger Games. It's not being a Gamemaker, but it's surely important and Jaymis is proud of it.
