Name: Lucius Atticus Crane
Age: 10
Personality:
A shy and artistic boy who is better at expressing his
thoughts, fears, and desires on paper than through words. Lucius can often be
found in his bedroom creating some piece of art that looks like it was done by
an older, professional artist and not a ten year old boy. For the quiet and
reserved child, art has always been more than just a hobby, but a way that he
felt he could actually express himself without the anxiety caused by actually
trying to figure out how to explain his feelings to the people around him. It
is an outlet that he can actually enjoy and that really makes him feel better.
One could easily describe Lucius as a gentle, well mannered
young soul. He was never interested in the wild games and sports his peers were
interested in. He was never one of those little devils that had to constantly
be chased around and kept out of trouble. He was more than happy to curl up on
someones lap and relax while they did other things or to sit quietly and color
or finger paint. He has always been more on the sensitive side, sensitive to
feelings and a low tolerance for pain and things of that nature. Violence
doesn't sit well with him and therefore the games is not something he enjoys. He
does however love the creative aspect of them.
He is a very deep and thoughtful child as well. He questions
and reads into things in a way that even most adults, let alone children, do.
He takes care when making judgement of people and events. He is careful to look
at all sides and to look into each aspect. He goes deep below the surface of
everything, but rarely does he speak up about them. Often these realizations
and deeper thoughts come into play in his art work or just his general mood.
History:
A beautiful, healthy baby boy was born on May 19th to an
unwed woman who had no desire to raise a child on her own. She was not ready.
She didn't want to sacrifice her partying life style and the years she had left
to be young and carefree. Sweet, newborn Lucius was taken to his biological
father, a special young man who was in a very good place, but hadn't quite
reached the peak of his career. He had friends and he had successfully
established himself as a gamemaker. He was still young and still in the process
of bettering his life even more, but he took the child in, determined to give
him a good life.
Lucius' father was a good father to him even as he gained
more and more recognition for his work and when Lucius was seven was promoted
to head gamemaker. Yes, Lucius is the son of the famous and well known, Seneca
Crane and everyone is very much aware of this much to Lucius' dislike. Unlike
his father, Lucius would rather hide in the shadows than have the capitol
prying into his life and making a big deal out of him. He would rather they not
know, but at least Seneca has always been understanding of that and helps the
boy to stay out of the spotlight as much as he possibly can.
There isn't much to say really. Lucius had a very good
childhood. A supportive father who tried to be there as much as he could even
with the busiest of schedules. The father and son duo did a lot of art projects
together, Lucius' favorite activity of course. He even got to accompany his
father to work and help with any planning that he did at home. He liked being
involved in the creative part of the games. He enjoyed seeing how everything
was done behind the scenes despite despising the games themselves. As a child
it was simply a matter of the blood and injuries, things that had made the poor
young child very queasy and ill feeling the first time he really paid attention
to them and he hadn't actually watched them since. He preferred the creation to
the final product and he stuck with watching and trying to help out with that
process.
members to grow up with. The avox who had raised Seneca, Cade, was sent to live
with them and he was a good caretaker. Like Seneca, Luc was aware of Cade's
differences. How he was working for them. How he had done wrong and that was
why he was silent and why he was working for them. He didn't care much though.
The man showed him nothing, but kindness and he was very much like a
grandfather to him. He could forgive anything he had done in the past. It had
been so many years ago anyway. He also had his father's best friend and eventually boyfriend and his daughter, Aurelia living with them. Atticus was like a second father to him and Lia was like a sister. They may be a different little family, but they are a family none of the less.
His main struggle has always been school. He is a bit slower
when it comes to learning certain things that don't involve much creativity. He
isn't the greatest at making friends and there is always that fear that they want
to around him simply because of who his father is. He almost tries to avoid
school around the time of the games. He doesn't want to listen to the stories
of the kills and he doesn't want to be asked all sorts of questions. It has
become even more of a struggle as he is getting older.
So basically Lucius has had a good life. Two supportive and
loving family members. If you took out school
and the media attention from his father's job then he would really
almost have a perfect life if there is such a thing.
